Evelyn Joshua, wife of Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as T.B. Joshua, has disclosed the incident leading up to his death.

 

Speaking with some selected journalists on Sunday, June 6, she said that her husband, the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), "ended his race prayerfully".

 

She revealed the televangelist spent about three hours in prayers before the last service on the mountain and appeared to be very healthy. She said he never showed any sign of illness or worry and that his main concern was about the prayer line they offered to Indians against the COVID-19 pandemic.

French national team coach, Didier Deschamps has mocked Jose Mourinho’s spell at Tottenham Hotspur, saying he expected more from Mourinho's spell in North London.


Mourinho who has recently been appointed head coach of Serie A giants AS Roma, was in charge of Spurs between November 2019 and April 2021, 17 months after being named as the successor to Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.

Umahi resigns as chairman of EBUBE AGU

 

The chairman of the South East Security Committee, codenamed, EBUBE AGU, Major General Obi Abel Umahi (rtd) has resigned his position.

 

In his resignation letter dated June 4, 2021 and titled “Resignation as Chairman Southeast Security Committee – Ebubeagu”, Umahi said since the formation of the security outfit, the southeast governors had stifled it of funds and without providing it with an office space. The security outfit was formed by the southeast governors in April this year with the sole purpose of tackling insecurity in the region. Read here.

Billionaire Amazon founder and outgoing CEO, Jeff Bezos has announced that he and his brother Mark will fly on New Shepard, a Blue Origin spacecraft, when it blasts off on July 20.


Jeff Bezos, who founded Blue Origin in 2000, will fly alongside Mark and the winner of an online auction which has already surpassed $2.8 million as at Monday, June 7.

Pastor Kumuyi issues disclaimer about tweeting despite Twitter ban

 

Pastor William F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has issued a disclaimer about still posting tweets despite the Twitter ban.

 

The Nigerian government has banned Twitter and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, ordered the prosecution of Nigerians defying the Twitter ban.

 

In response, Pastor Kumuyi, who is still tweeting via his official account, explained that his messages are targeted at a global audience in over 100 nations and his tweets are shared from any of those locations, not from Nigeria.

 

Buhari appoints two new aides for wife, Aisha

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of two new aides for his wife and First Lady, Aisha. 

 

The two new appointees are Dr. Rukayyatu Abdulkareem Gurin and Dr. Mohammed Kamal Abdurrahman. Gurin has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration and Women Affairs, while Abdurrahman was appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Health and Development Partners in the Office of the First Lady.

 

Gurin is a doctorate holder in Curriculum Instruction from the University of Maiduguri and was at various times a Lecturer at the University of Maiduguri; a Deputy Director at the National Universities Commission (NUC); and a Director at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, denies giving condition Twitter has to meet for its operations to be restored in Nigeria

 




The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, has denied reports claiming he listed conditions Twitter must meet before the temporary suspension of its operations in Nigeria can be lifted.

 

The Minister today June 7, met with the ambassadors of the United States, United Kingdom, the European Union, the Republic of Ireland and Canada in Abuja over their recent comments on the suspension of Twitter in Nigeria. The foreign envoys in a letter jointly signed and released over the weekend condemned the suspension of Twitter.
